Andrew Bird at Òran Mór

We went to see Andrew Bird last night at what I was hoping would be a lovely concert hall inside a converted church. It turned out to be a little bar stuck in the basement of that lovely church, but it was still an amazing one-man-show.  He said that it was the last stop on their tour and he'd already sent his band home, but that lead to a unique folk-festival feel.  It was strictly Andrew Bird, his violin, a guitar, and a loop machine, and it was amazing.

Today is Christian's birthday, and we're looking forward to some whiskey inspired events this evening.

This is the group that opened the show (I forget their name).  Notice the gramophone thing in the back... Andrew Bird had it spinning during his performance with a little sock monkey perched on the edge.

  1. Hi Aunt Kristie and Uncle Christian:
This is Noah and Mya looking at your pictures here on Grampa and Banana's computer.
We have just finished dinner and eating blueberry pie.
We were so happy to see our very nice artwork on your really tiny fridge.
Noah asks " will you bring our artwork back to Toronto to go on a bigger fridge in your new apartment that you will be getting after my birthday"?
Noah and Mya and Grampa and Banana all say " HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHRISTIAN WE LOVEYOU" (this is in capitals because we are singing loudly.
Banana says "Kristie, the flowers you gave me are still alive! Wow"
Love and Kissess from all of us.
PS Please send a short sound bite of bagpipes, please
